QSO with the Prez-

The weather is just beginning to cooperate, and the tower project is back on the books. In case anyone has not been to the Worcester site, the tower to be decommissioned is on soft soil just off a landscaped driveway, and the plan is to not damage any lawn during the process. The tower sections will be used in the new construction thereby costing minimal expense in the process. The excavation work is planned to begin before June in fact the excavator has already phoned twice to check on timing- not bad for volunteered labor. We have several ideas coming in for the new tower and what system configuration will be best suited there. Many have commented about the improved link clarity all attributed to our technical committee. Thanks go to K3HLN, N3KKL, and K3ITH, not to mention W3SOU, and K3ZKO for several critical hardware loans and support during the process.

Concerning our budget, we are managing to keep our system active in the current condition of a reduced member base. With this in mind, please consider corporate matching programs for our organization as well as keeping posted to the -.76 repeater for work party information. Membership is of growing importance, so with hamfest season approaching, keep PARA in mind.

Your PARA Board of Directors has recently approved the following policy: For each new PARA member sponsored your will receive a two month extension on your current membership; the policy in the past has been a one month membership extension for each new member sponsored. This is a great way to save money, increase your membership expiration date, and gain new members for our fine organization. Make sure the new applicant lists your call letters as the sponsor on their membership form. PARA Membership forms are available in every issue of PARA-graphs, on the PARA web site of the internet, via E-mail to para(at sign)buxcom.net , via FAX (call Mark KA3VTM or Dick K3ITH), at the PARA General Meetings, or via US mail. Why not keep a few applications available so you can be the first to sponsor that new call heard on any of the PARA repeaters.
