Michael J. Bortulin, 82, of West Norriton passed away on February 8, 2018 at his home after a long struggle with prostate cancer. Born August 5, 1935 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Michael and Theresa (nee Braun) Bortulin. He was preceded in death by a brother Michael and a sister Catherine. Mike attended Air Force technical schools, served as an instructor on occasion, and also studied electronics at Philadelphia Wireless Technical Institute. He worked at General Electric/Lockheed Martin for 36 years as an Aerospace Test Engineer. After retiring, he switched careers and became a Funeral Director assistant for 20 years.
Mike married his high school sweetheart Helen Schweizer in 1958. He is survived by his wife Helen, 3 daughters and 2 sons: Eileen Kampf (Bill), Michael Bortulin (Kim), Marianne Flores (Val), John Bortulin (Jeanne), Margaret Springer (John); six grandchildren: Val, Kathryn, Michael, Sam, Jack and Crystal. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator (K3BOY). Among other interests were music, photography, tools and especially his cat Daisy. Mike was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Teresa of Avila Church. He served as an usher and never missed weekly mass. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, February 17 from 8:45 to 9:45AM, followed by a funeral mass at 10AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1025 Trooper Rd, Audubon. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham, PA
